Welcome to the Team, Tori!
We’re thrilled to share that Tori has officially joined Hortikult — and the timing couldn’t be better. As our plant community grows and our project list gets longer, having a full-stack engineer on board means we can finally start building the tools we’ve been sketching on napkins.
Tori brings nearly a decade of experience building and maintaining ecommerce websites, enterprise content management systems, and the API integrations that hold modern web applications together. Her day-to-day toolkit spans C#, Sitecore, React, and Shopify, with a particular knack for optimizing backend systems and automating complex workflows that usually eat up everyone’s afternoons. Based in the Greater Chicago area and a co-founder of WanderRoot LLC, she’s been increasingly drawn to where software meets the botanical world — which is exactly where Hortikult lives.
So what will she actually be doing? In short: both sides of the house.
On the internal side, Tori will be helping us level up hortikult.com and the digital infrastructure behind our growing list of projects — making things faster, cleaner, and easier to maintain as we scale. Expect smoother site experiences, better integrations between the tools we already use, and a much shorter list of “we should really fix that someday” items.
On the customer-facing side, she’ll be working with us on the tools and platforms we’re building for plant collectors. We’re not quite ready to spill all the details yet, but think: practical software that solves real problems for serious hobbyists — the kind of things you wish existed but never quite do.
Beyond the code, Tori is a passionate aroid collector herself, which means she’s not just building for our community — she’s building for her own shelves, too. And honestly, that’s the best kind of engineer to have.
Welcome aboard, Tori. The plants (and the repos) are lucky to have you.
